About us

Our long, rich history begins in South Korea, where Grand Master Jung Soo Park grew up and studied. He studied under multiple types of “Kwans,” which are different types of traditions, not training in just one style. He had the honor of studying under the late General Choi, a man who became the President of the International Taekwondo Federation. After serving in the navy, he made the trip by himself to the United States in hopes of opening his own Taekwondo school.

The Park family struggled when they first arrived, being in a new land with a new language. They lived in the taekwondo school to make ends meet and lived without many comforts. The school and Grand Master Park grew their reputation and eventually moved to south Florida. This is where they established Park’s Tae Kwon Do, and eventually developed the World Martial Arts Research Federation. They developed a specific and detailed curriculum for their schools and to bring traditional and modern Taekwondo together.
